Day1. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and city tour

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. You’ll be greeted at the airport and escorted to your hotel. After lunch take a half-day city tour including a visit to the National History Museum, where you will see artifacts from Mongolia and Central Asia from the Stone Age to the present. And an excursion to the Zaisan Hill War Memorial to get your bearings with a panoramic view of the whole city. Overnight in the hotel.  (L+D)

Day2. Eagle valley in south Gobi

After an early morning breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Dalanzadgad, the capital of Umnugobi aimag. The flight takes hour and a half and on your arrival at the airstrip in Dalanzadgad, the Black Ibex team will be waiting for you. Take a city tour of Dalandzadgad town, the capital of South Gobi province and visit local museum. Drive to Yol Am (also called Eagle valley) – a wonderfully picturesque place with ice even in summer, and surrounded by sheer rocky walls, forming incredible canyons. These areas are situated in the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park that encompasses the “Three Beauties” peaks and the most easterly points of the Altai Mountains. Overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D)

Day3. Mongolian largest sand dunes

After breakfast, drive to Khongor sand dunes. These are Mongolia’s largest sand dunes, reaching a height of 300 meters in some areas. The sand dunes change color with each hour of the day, from yellow to silver to rose-color at (sunrise or sunset). On the way see Dungene valley – a wonderfully picturesque place and surrounded by sheer rocky walls, forming incredible canyons. Enjoy small hiking and photographing the charming landscape and wildlife. Overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D)

Day4. Bayanzag and land of dinosaurs

Today we will drive to Bayanzag, (known as Flaming Cliffs where the first nest of dinosaur eggs ever discovered was found in 1922) a site famous for the remains of the Dinosaurs which lived here 60 million years ago. What a chance to walk around where the Dinosaurs once roamed and also get to know saksaul trees and other classic desert vegetation. Overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D)

Day5. Ongi Temple Ruins

After breakfast, we will drive to Ongi Temple ruins which had about thousand lamas. It is a ruin of big monastery Bari Yonzon Hamba on the bank of a river. On the way, we will enjoy the vast steppe of the country. Play traditional games and Overnight in the tourist camp. (B+L+D)

Day6. Visit Erdenezuu and Karakorum

After breakfast, continue driving to Karakorum, the symbolic ruins of the 13th century capital of the Mongol Empire. On the way, we will enjoy beautifully changing landscape from semi desert Gobi into forest steppe. Visit Erdene-Zuu, the oldest monastery, with 108 stupas, built in 1586. Then visit Karakorum museum and see the Great Mongol state period, Stone Age, Bronze Age, Ancient state period halls. Overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D)

Day7. Orkhon waterfall

 

Continue on the trip to Orkhon waterfall. In the beginning, the terrain will be wide open valleys to mountain, rivers and then changing to Forest Mountain and 20m wonderful waterfall. On the way we will visit Tuvkhun monastery, which is one of the most beautiful monastery complexes, situated on forest rocky mountain. temple) will be quite interesting spot – by walking.Visit the family of a horseman. You are free to taste the favorite beverage of the nomads – airag, fermented mare’s milk. Stay overnights in Ger camp and tent. (B+L+D)

Day7. To Eight lakes  horse back riding tour

The Khuisiin Naiman Nuur National Monument is located in the Central Mongolian Khangai mountain range and represents a typical high mountain area of Mongolia with max. The area of Naiman Nuur (Eight Lakes), which was created by volcanic eruptions centuries ago and 3,163 metres above sea level Khuisiin Naiman Nuur (Navel Eight Lakes) is located on over 2,400 metre above sea level. The area of 11,500 hectare size was declared a National Monument in 1992. (during 5 days in the tent ) (B+L+D)

This morning we will start our horseback riding tour. After having breakfast, we will pack our staff on some packing yaks and ride to Shireet Lake, which is the biggest one in other 7 lakes. During the day we will see great landscapes, a beautiful lake and one of the wildest and unspoiled travel destinations of Mongolia. The Shireet Lake is perfect for photo-shooting and camping overnight. We highly recommend this area for our customers who want to experience adventurous horseback riding. We will stay overnight in our tents. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Day 11.Orkhon water fall

Today we will stay near the orkhon valley in the ger camp. (B+L+D)

Day12. Tsenher hot spring

After breakfast drive to ” Tsenher ” Hot spring is 40 km far from Tsetserleg which is provincial center, which locates in the territory of the Arkhangai province, and relaxing on the bathhouse. Stay overnights in Ger camp. (B+L+D)

Day13.Ugii lake

After breakfast, drive to Ugii Lake (altitude 1387 m; surface area-25 sq. km). When you visit the lake, you will have an opportunity to take a boat tour and do some birding. Dinner is real authentic Mongolian barbecue, prepared in the traditional style with hot stones. Overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D)

Day14. Khustai National Park

We will drive to Hustai National Park to see wild Takhi, the Asian wild horse. Enjoy small hiking and photographing the charming landscape and wildlife. Visit Takhi’s small museum and overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D)

 

Day15. Back to Ulaanbaatar departure

After breakfast, you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport. (B)
